The pandemic has shifted a massive amount of training online in one fell swoop. Most training organizations have simply switched over to live video conferences (VILT). But employees are starting to experience “Zoom fatigue”, a deadening effect which impacts productivity and creates disengagement--clearly counterproductive to what an organization would like to achieve.
This session will focus on exploring how new approaches to blended learning can break past barriers presented by VILT-based training. We will discuss how key learning dynamics can be incorporated into asynchronous and blended online learning environments that support sharing and dialog, practice and feedback, group collaboration, and mentorship. We can re-humanize online learning by putting people at the center and making the technology work for them, versus the other way around.
During this session participants will:
- Discover how key learning dynamics can be incorporated into a blended learning environment that leverages the best of synchronous and asynchronous elements
- See how new techniques and technologies enable more social, applied practice-focused asynchronous learning
- Utilize a framework to determine how to blend live and asynchronous activities with facilitation to create an engaging, dynamic learning environment
